Firearm Transferred to Thrive Defense

To order a firearm online, place the order and select a receiving FFL.

For orders placed on thrivedefense.com, firearms can be picked up at Thrive Defense for no transfer fee.

Alternatively, orders can be placed with other retailers and sent to Thrive Defense for pickup.

Or, orders can be placed with Thrive Defense and picked up at another FFL.

Steps to Transfer a Firearm:

  1. Order the firearm and select a receiving FFL.
  2. Contact the receiving FFL. Typically the receiver will have a page on their website dedicated to transfers. For Thrive Defense, this is that page.
  3. The Receiving FFL will send a copy of their FFL to the sender.
  4. Pickup the firearm at the receiving FFL.

To have a firearm transferred to Thrive Defense, please complete the transfer form on this page. Once we receive your information, we will provide the shipping dealer with a copy of our FFL (if applicable). When the firearm arrives at our facility, it must be logged into our system before release. We will contact you as soon as the firearm is processed and ready for pickup.

  • Please ensure the shipper does not send any firearms or ammunition magazines that are restricted under Colorado law. Thrive Defense cannot issue refunds or provide compensation for items that cannot legally be delivered to the buyer. If transfer procedures are not followed, an additional handling fee of up to $100 may apply, or the firearm may be returned to the shipping FFL at the buyer’s sole expense.

Transfer Fees:

  • FFL Transfers: $30 per firearm
  • Private Party Transfers: $10 per firearm
  • Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Background Check Fee: $15 per transaction (required for all firearm transfers)

Important Note: Thrive Defense accepts transfers from licensed FFL holders, private individuals, and direct transfers between private parties. However, we do not accept shipments from non-FFL shippers.

Magazine & Shotgun Transfer Restrictions

Due to Colorado law, Thrive Defense cannot accept magazines with a capacity greater than 15 rounds. We also will not accept shotguns whose combined magazine tube length exceeds 28 inches (examples include the Kel-Tec KSG, DP-12, and similar multi-tube designs). Any firearm or magazine found to be non-compliant with Colorado law will be immediately returned to the originating FFL at the buyer’s expense.
